What the Golden Apple is for
The Golden Apple is a tier 9 Secret food that costs $120Qa. Food does not change how far you throw – that is Throw Power – but it decides how lucky the roll is once an animal arrives. I use the Golden Apple for Prehistoric Forest and Deep Waters, which needs about 1,500 – 1,850 Throw Power.
It shares tier 9 with Crystal Melon. When the next tier is close, skip same-tier foods and save for it.
At $120Qa it costs about 2.4x the Royal Steak ($50Qa). Buy it once your throws already reach Prehistoric Forest – food bought before you can land there only improves rolls in zones you have already filled.
