Yak
A Legendary yak from the back of the Mountains. A plain Yak earns a bit less than a plain Griffin, but a Gold Yak beats a Gold Griffin.

Where to catch the Yak
The Yak lives in Mountains (zone 6 of 17), around the middle of the zone. It is number 5 of 7 in the Mountains index. A full-strength throw needs roughly 880 – 1,000 Throw Power to land in Mountains.
Foods that land here: Mushroom ($30B), Bacon (~$150B). A higher-tier food pushes the roll toward the rarer end of the Mountains list, so the newest food you own is always the best bait.
Any throw that lands around the middle of the zone can produce it. If you are hunting it for the index, lower your throw strength with the gear icon until the food lands on that spot – distance inside a zone decides which animals can come.
Is it worth keeping?
- Keep it longer only if it rolled a strong mutation or size (see the table below) or you need it for the index.
